Job Title: Senior Chemist   Location: Romulus, MI 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, advanced degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of related professional experience
  • Experience must include: 3 years of developing and testing adhesives or other bonding material. Ideally for use in automotive/glass, 5 years of experience in development and product launch, and at least 3 years of supervision of technical employees.
  • Project Management skills are a plus.
  • Candidates local to the Detroit Metro area are preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
This Senior Chemist role is responsible for conducting research, analysis and experimentation to formulate materials used in final assembly of automotive windshields. This individual will work closely with customers, materials engineers, sales, purchasing and internal development staff to develop and formulate specific product, manufacturing process standards and direct scale-up activities. Preparing technical reports and maintaining the project and product database will be needed as well.

The Chemistry Program at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) invites applications for a full time instructor position and part time adjunct instructor positions to begin in August 2017. 

Applicants for the instructor position must have at least a M.S. degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry or a closely related area. Applicants for the adjunct positions must have 20 hours or greater in chemistry. Previous college/university teaching experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to teach lower level undergraduate and general education chemistry lecture and/or laboratory courses.  The full time instructor will be expected to teach 15 contact hours per semester at UCM's Warrensburg campus.  The adjunct instructors may teach up to 10 contact hours per semester.
